Senator Government

Slip of the tongue or calculated foray on Barackonomics?  Contributing to one of my requests for the debate, memorable moments, this is one of Senator McCain's most noteworthy lines of the night, "This really gets down to the fundamental difference in our philosophies. If you notice that in all of his proposals, Senator government wants -- Sen. Obama wants government to do the job."

Spendid. If that was in fact a genuine slip, it was quite remarkable, and if not...brilliant.  People may begin to start paying more attention to how much government has betrayed us these days, and just how much Barack Obama plans to employ that very thing.  McCain was absolutely right when he noted, concerning Obama's policies, "that's big government at its best."

We are talking about a trillion in new spending and no specific ideas for cuts.  Barack Obama will either have to exhorbitantly contribute to the deficit or else raise everybody's taxes like we haven't seen since Carter.  And when the Bush tax cuts expire, kiss your pay checks good bye, folks.  If he thinks that taxing job developers will generate the revenue he's going to need, then he is living in a rainbow sky fortress chimera, but the consequences are real, with unemployment beating Barack Obama in CBS polls.
