Senator Government

Slip of the tongue or calculated foray on Barackonomics?  Contributing to one of my requests for the debate, memorable moments, this is one of Senator McCain's most noteworthy lines of the night, "This really gets down to the fundamental difference in our philosophies. If you notice that in all of his proposals, Senator government wants -- Sen. Obama wants government to do the job."

Spendid. If that was in fact a genuine slip, it was quite remarkable, and if not...brilliant.  People may begin to start paying more attention to how much government has betrayed us these days, and just how much Barack Obama plans to employ that very thing.  McCain was absolutely right when he noted, concerning Obama's policies, "that's big government at its best."

We are talking about a trillion in new spending and no specific ideas for cuts.  Barack Obama will either have to exhorbitantly contribute to the deficit or else raise everybody's taxes like we haven't seen since Carter.  And when the Bush tax cuts expire, kiss your pay checks good bye, folks.  If he thinks that taxing job developers will generate the revenue he's going to need, then he is living in a rainbow sky fortress chimera, but the consequences are real, with unemployment beating Barack Obama in CBS polls.

Distractions

Everything from questionable associations to ties with fraudulent registration efforts has been a distraction for Barack Obama.  Barack Obama says, "It's easy to get caught up in the distractions and the silliness and the tit for tat that consumes our politics."  Obama is sure to point out the triviality of every single thing that stands against him.  Let's keep in mind that the only issue is the economy and that Barack Obama's plan is the supreme interest of the entire election.   Every pro-growth pro-America policy delivered by McCain and Palin is silliness and every brand and blemish of Sarah's family front page news, but Barack's own verified ties and associations are unfair game lest the media actually criticize Barack Obama.

I'm sure that tonight we will hear more about McCain's ties with Bush and with lobbyists and with Big Oil, the standard political slogans of Barack Obama and the Democratic Party, but let him who dares to cast doubt on Obama by his ties and associations be anathema.  His ties with ACORN, his ties with Fannie Mae and Freddy Mac, his association with a domestic terrorist and a racist anti-American pastor, our enemies' support for him.  The list goes on, but is off limits.  It's all silliness and distraction from the real issue, Barack Obama's socialist policies and far left agenda.

I'm sure McCain needs the approval of people who probably aren't going to support him anyway, the swing voters, nay, the idiot voters, and the far left.  We'll see what happens.

The Debate

Countdown to election day kicks off with the final presidential debate, tonight.  McCain has got to come out and be bold, passionate, and tear down Obama's plan.  McCain has to pick apart Obama on taxes and economy and convince people why his own is much better for America.  It will be tough because Obama, a trained lawyer and good debater, is tough on the defense.  He's got to level with the folks and put it a way that people get.  He's got to come off as the leader and be memorable.  People have such short memories that McCain has got to make this effort.

McCain cannot be the same in this one as he was before, although I believe he won, he didn't convince the undecideds of that.  I think these people need to stand for something and get on board with one ideological philosophy or the other, but thats neither here nor there.  They believe how they believe, and McCain is double bogie with these people.  He also would do well to paint Obama with the brush of elitism and left-wing radicalism that is being kept from...apparently...most people.  I sometimes wonder, though, if people just don't care about that, or perhaps, they are fine with it.  How frightening is that!

Listening to the focus groups, they may very well not care about Obama's elitism or leftist agenda.  If McCain wants to expose him he's got to do it with tact.  He's got to find a way that will not seem negative, but kind of like, "ah ha, gotcha", and make the folks think, but then quickly shift back to the hard issues.  That's what people want to hear about.  He's got to hit these issues clearly and concisely, detailed yet simple.  Economy is unfortunately issue number one for most, and the only issue for many.  McCain has the better policies but can't seem to get it across.  He's got to connect tonight.

McCain will have to put on his flight suit and challenge Obama.  I mean actually challenge the man to the point where he is stuttering like an idiot.  And he can do it, and people will say, "hmm, that guy cannot defend his position."  And he has to get the American people fired up.

This is a tall tall order for McCain, but he has the resilience to prevail.
